We exist to assist in development of rural communities within Kenya.
About Us
Kajiado Development Trust (KADET) is a Trust that was formed in 2017 to assist in the development of rural communities within Kenya. The Trust’s mandate is to receive, hold, manage and administer the Trust Fund for community development purposes that are also charitable, altruistic and philanthropic.
The Trust’s role is to receive the Trust Fund and source for funds from local and international donors, the government and well-wishers, and apply the Trust Fund towards poverty alleviation activities in Kenya’s rural areas.

What We Do
Our goal is to support Kenya’s rural communities’ development.
Our core activity involves projects related to self-help,empowerment, capacity building, skills
development, food security, entrepreneurship, training, agriculture and agibusiness, environmental
conservation, community nutrition, public health, community water, energy and renewable energy,
technology and innovation, eradication of drug and substance abuse, eradication of domestic/
gender based violence, among others.

Our main focus is on educating the local population about contemporary farming practices, cattle raising, irrigation, and agribusiness. We also put an emphasis on environmental preservation by initiating projects like planting trees to support environmental preservation.

Water scarcity is a common issue in Kajiado. We are digging boreholes in every neighborhood to improve access to clean water.
We develop projects like solar power installation to increase the use of solar-powered electricity.
PROPOSED PROJECTS
KADET aims to implement a CSR project for the purposes of alleviating poverty specifically through digging boreholes in marginalized areas, areas that do not have easy access to water and therefore require women and children to walk tens of kilometers to search for this basic commodity. Dubbed “Clean Water for All,” the goal of the project is to provide clean water to
select villages in impoverished areas by digging boreholes, thereby providing a long-term
solution to clean water scarcity.

Our desire is to maintain strong third party relationships with the government, community
mobilizers, community based organisations, non-governmental organisations and suppliers.
